www.skiphop.com

Now that we have grandchildren, I spend a good deal of time looking at sites that sell children’s items. One newly found site is a New York City company known as Skip Hop. It is, “devoted to designing groundbreaking products for a new generation of parents.”

At Skip Hop, we truly understand today’s moms and dads because that’s who we are too. We’re in tune with the cool person you were before parenthood, and know that you’re even cooler now that you’re a new mom or dad. Yes, you spend tons of time online, but now it’s on your favorite parenting Web site. You still blog, but now you blog your baby photos. You love your iPod even more with lullabies in it. And baby’s first steps are up on YouTube for everyone to see. So really, nothing’s changed, yet it’s also a whole new world.

At Skip Hop, we get it. So we strive to create products that are smarter, more innovative, and safer. Products that appeal not only to your heart but to your modern sense of design. Iconic objects that beautify the living space, simplify parenting and make day-to-day living easier as a new mom or dad. That’s the ultimate goal in everything we do. To make parenting better.

In 2003, Skip Hop designed the world’s first diaper bag that converts into a stroller bag. Ever since, we’ve been creating new parenting products that are original and transformational. Our team continues to bring design to life, introducing exciting, innovative essentials for new moms and dads all over the world.

Skip Hop has designed items for the home, nursery, bath, and grooming. They have created truly innovative toys and zoo packs. There is even an Central Park outdoor blanket with cooler bag. Skip Hop seems to have an endless number of inspired ideas.

Moreover, Skip Hop is philanthropic.

We recognize that we are part of a larger world and its important to all of us at Skip Hop that we help make it a better place. A portion of all Skip Hop profits go to charities benefiting parents and children. In particular, we contribute to three organizations that we’re honored to be able to help support. Whenever you purchase Skip Hop products, you are also helping to support the work of these great organizations.

Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation

The foundation has spent more than two decades funding pediatric research and raising awareness about children’s fight against HIV/AIDS. Thanks to this research and awareness, as well as the advent of combination antiretroviral therapy, many children born infected with HIV/AIDS now have the opportunity to grow up healthy.

Baby Buggy

Baby Buggy is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing New York City’s families in need with essential equipment, clothing, and products for their infants and young children.

Ovarian Cancer Research Fund

The Ovarian Cancer Research Fund exists to fund research to find a method of early detection and ultimately a cure for ovarian cancer. In support of this mission, they help patients and their loved ones understand the disease and its treatment, and provide outreach programs to raise public awareness.

Have you been searching for truly innovative everyday products to use with your infant or toddler? Are you looking for items that are safe and non-toxic? Then, consider this site.

It is funny how such a simple thing can lead to so much. It all began with a messy toddler bathtub. Designer Rebecca Finell’s wheels started turning and the Frog Pod was born.

But the problem solving didn’t stop there. She had lots of ideas for other parenting innovations so she sought out a partner, Ryan Fernandez – who could create a successful business – and together they founded Boon Inc. Today, Boon offers a wide range of products that help parents all over the world.

Why the name Boon.

A boon is defined as ‘a benefit bestowed, especially one bestowed in response to a request.’ Each of our products offers a boon to parents by helping to make their everyday lives a bit easier while incorporating great design at an affordable price.

Rebecca and Ryan make an exceptionally strong team.

Rebecca Finell is an award winning industrial designer and mother of three. She has a special talent for creating sleek and innovative products that parents appreciate. Rebecca is the inventor behind Boon’s unique product line. As Design Principal, she oversees all aspects of branding and product development – from research and design, through final manufacturing.

Ryan Fernandez is a former sales executive with Intel Corporation. As a father to four young girls, he is enthusiastic about introducing revolutionary products to the children’s product industry. Ryan holds a MBA from Pepperdine University with an emphasis on marketing and management and a focus in entrepreneurship.

Boon Inc. has created gear for bathing, eating, going out and about, playing, storage, organization, seating, furniture, and toilet training. There is even a clothing line and unusual pieces of jewelry.

Boon donate 10 percent of its profits to children’s charities.

Our team at Boon inc. believes that there is nothing more innocent or precious as a child. We want to participate in helping underprivileged children live the life we would want for our own children.

When our two children were small, there were no eco-friendly products for babies or children. At least, neither my husband nor I ever heard of them. Today, there are online stores that make leading an eco-friendly life easy. One such resource is LaLaNatural, which was created by Loren Lipson and his wife, Elena, after their son, Miles, developed a rash from disposable diapers.

A close family member told us about organic cloth diapers, and we bought a set. Miles’ rash went away immediately after we started using the diapers, and we were sold. We searched for other healthy products in the marketplace and found that there was a whole world of high quality products that are good for the kids who use them. We offer natural toys that stimulate a child’s mind in creative play, organic clothing and diapers and other products that are good for our health and the environment.

Among the items available for sale at LaLaNatural are cloth diapers, blankets, clothing and accessories, slings, woolens, rattles, and toys.

Our name, LaLaNatural is inspired by our dedication to living in harmony with nature – for a healthier life now and for future generations. All of our products reflect a commitment to:

Environment and Elegance: The finest goods that uniquely fuse exceptional quality and design with eco sensitivities.

Organic, Sustainable Sources: The purest ingredients and sustainable resources possible – selected to be the best available.

Earth and People Friendly: Vendors and manufacturers who share our values and create products that have minimal or no impact on the environment. Our vendors also have systems that treat their workers/employees fairly, i.e. fair wages and good working conditions in every country in which they work.

Handcrafted by Artisans: Distinctive goods of uncommon value, handcrafted by passionate designers and artisans.

Celebrate Life: Celebrate life and human spirit by honoring traditions from cultures around the world.

LaLaNatural is a socially responsible business.

Something I do which gives back to my community is to run a free baby sling lending library…. These increase attachment, bonding, baby awareness and sensory development, even inner-ear development, for a baby who is upright verses laying down most of the time. I have a great selection of donated slings for new families to borrow. I demonstrate the various slings as well as help the new Mom and Dad choose one that fits their lifestyle. Slings and carriers may be expensive. This can help a family try one before making the investment.
