Like many writers, I am also an avid reader of books and magazines. While many of the books I enjoy come from our library system, on occasion, I find books that I want to purchase. Recently, I located booksXYZ. Like other online booksellers, booksXYZ offers a huge array of different types of books. However, unlike most book sellers, booksXYZ is truly giving back to communities. The bookseller’s profits are donated to schools throughout the country.
All profits from booksXYZ benefit schools nationwide, and five percent of each sale goes to the school or college of the customer’s choice. The majority of profits from each sale return to the schools in the purchaser’s local area. All funds for education will be distributed and overseen by the Acadiana Educational Endowment (AEE) and its affiliate, The American Public School Endowments (APSE), a 501©3 nonprofit organization. The AEE and APSE also own booksXYZ.
Intrigued with this different type of bookseller, I did what most authors would probably do. I looked up my recently published book, Your Best Medicine: From Conventional and Complementary Medicine – Expert-Endorsed Therapeutic Solutions to Relieve Symptoms and Speed Healing, which I wrote with my husband, Mark A. Goldstein, MD, and Larry Credit, OMD. Almost immediately, our book appeared. And, at a good price! While it sells for $17.96 at amazon.com and $17.78 at overstock.com, at booksXYZ.com, it was $15.57. And, if I purchased our book, five percent of the sale, or 78 cents, would be donated to a school of my choice.
While amazon.com and overstock.com remain excellent sources for books and other items, when purchasing your next book, it might also be a good idea to check out booksXYZ.
