Just about everyone I know has at least one furry friend in their lives. We have two – Goliath is a three-year-old Toy Manchester Terrier and Dakota is a year-old yellow Lab. Until Dakota arrived Goliath enjoyed occasional snacks. Since Dakota, who is always interested in eating, joined our family last July, that dynamic has changed. In addition to their regular meals, Goliath and Dakota relish their three or four daily snacks. So, it is not surprising, that I am always searching for new possibilities. Recently, I found the Needham, MA-based Boston Baked Bonz.
Boston Baked Bonz is a unique store that offers the absolute best baked goods possible to the doggies in your life! We bake, by hand, the most excellent organic vegan dog treats dogs have ever tasted. But, we’re more than simply a bakery for canines. We sell accessories, gift baskets and our own line of clothing for dogs and humans called Bonz Where? You and your dog will look fabulous in these items!
At Boston Baked Bonz, we make the type of treats people give their dogs to say, ’Thank you for being part of my family.’ Or, friends give to one another to say, ‘I understand the love you have for your dog because I feel that love too.’ It is a wonderful thing, and we want to share it with the world! Our treats are organic because we want to minimize our paw prints on the planet – and give our best friends the absolute healthiest food. We are also a vegan company – which means that we don’t use animal products in our hand-crafted baked goods.
Boston Baked Bonz is very eco-friendly.
We use local artists to produce our materials and use only environmentally responsible packaging and products. For example, our greeting cards are printed on 100% post-consumer recycled paper and even have wildflower seeds in the pulp so they can be planted by the recipient. Our shirts are made in the USA from 100% organic cotton and printed in the most environmentally responsible way available.
And, Boston Baked Bonz gives back to the community.
We have focused our philanthropic efforts primarily on a single organization. We donate to Farm Sanctuary (over $100,000 per year) because we feel their message of compassion (‘A compassionate world begins with you.’) resonates so meaningfully with us.
However, we receive requests all the time from various dog groups, shelters, and rescue operations for donations to their fundraising events. We’ve supplied gift subscriptions, cookie crocks and other items to help them raise money. We love that we can give back to these groups that consist of all volunteers who work long hours to help animals in need. Extra cookies that we may have get sent to various people we know who work at these organizations so we can make sure their dogs get lots of attention too.
