Envirosax: Reusable Bags

For years, customers heard the same question from supermarket cashiers – “Paper or plastic”? Just about always, my husband and I would reply, “Paper.” For those of us who patronize the Whole Food stores in the

Boston-area, as we do, those days are over. There are no longer any plastic bags. And, while there are paper bags, customers are strongly encouraged to bring their own reusable bags. Moreover, this does not appear to be a Boston-area phenomenon. Plastic bags are disappearing around the country – in fact, throughout the world.

Hoping to fill the void, Envirosax, an Australian based company owned by Belinda and Mark David-Tooze, sells a wide variety of eco-friendly bags.

Envirosax is proud to help protect the environment for tomorrow’s offspring by providing an eco-friendly alternative to plastic shopping bags that threaten a healthy eco-system. Envirosax bags are lightweight, portable, waterproof, and each one holds the equivalent of two supermarket plastic bags – thanks to reinforced seams.

There are two main types of bags.

Graphic Series:

These Envirosax come in four designs – Flora, Retro Graphic, Monochromatic, and Amazonia. Lightweight polyester, portable, waterproof and weighing just 40 grams (1.4 ounces), these groovy bags are available as single items as well as an assortment of five bags contained in a small pouch. The pouch is small enough to stow in a glove box or a handbag…. Each bag is printed with an exciting graphics print using sublimation. This preferable method ensures the print is indefinite, and these striking bags will not fade.

Organic Series:

Reinforcing the company’s ethos of environmental sustainability, Envirosax has taken the ‘move in the right direction’ one step further by introducing the new Organic series. Continuing with the same popular design as the Graphic series, bags from the Organic series are made from Bamboo, Linen, and Hemp.

And how does the socially responsible Envirosax give back to the community?

Envirosax, an advocate for environmental sustainability, donates a percentage of all web sales to the Australian Marine Conservation Society, a national non-profit charity dedicated to protecting our wildlife.
