This Brooklyn, New York-based company makes organic soaps and body products that contain between 96 and 100 percent organic ingredients. The name, skinnyskinny, is derived in part from the fact that the company makes skin care products and is located in New York (skin + NY = skinny). “We also think that our products are pretty streamlined in the sense that we don’t add anything that isn’t useful and good for you.”
We do of course use plenty of phat ingredients like extra-virgin olive and coconut oils, unrefined butters, and pure essential oils. High in nutrients, vitamins and antioxidants, these oils and butters feed your skin everything that it could possibly want or need.
At present, skinnyskinny makes 16 types of soaps and five types of bath salts. The company is 100 percent carbon neutral and uses “100 percent recycled, reclaimed, sustainable and biodegradable materials for all of the packaging.”
We are a tiny company so most of our donations have been products. This past year, we gave more than $4000 in products to the River Fund. These products were distributed to the various shelters in their network, and some of the products were sent to an orphanage in Africa that they work with. We have also given close to $3000 in products toward fundraising activities for The Ellen P. Hermanson Foundation and $1600 in products to Andrea Bocelli – Vision of Children Benefit.
