Family owned, Wyman’s is the largest supplier of premium wild blueberry products in the U.S. These include 15-ounce stand-up bags of quick frozen wild blueberries, 3-pound re-sealable bags of quick frozen wild blueberries, and several types of wild blueberry juice. Filled with antioxidants, the consumption of blueberries has been associated with reduced rates of cancer and improvements in heart health, memory, urinary tract heath and vision. Wyman’s is also a premium supplier of cranberries, boysenberries, and strawberries.
But Wyman’s is also giving back to the community:
In 2007 Wyman’s sponsored two recycling events in central Chile to educate and train small raspberry farmers to correctly handle and recycle hazardous farm containers.
In 2006, Wyman’s launched a five-year $150,000 initiative to train and compensate small Chilean raspberry farmers in sustainable farming practices. At a May 2007 award dinner 25 growers received $500 awards for their efforts.
Wyman’s Canada is a principal sponsor of the restoration of the Fullerton Marsh on Prince Edward Island. Fullerton Marsh is an environmentally important 33-acre freshwater wetland. Wyman’s has partnered with Ducks Unlimited Canada to fund the replacement of a 30 year old water control structure to protect the area as a nesting, brood rearing and staging area for waterfowl.
Wyman’s continues to support the Women’s Health Resource Library, a new and innovative library in Milbridge, Maine serving all of Washington County with education resources for women’s health issues. Wyman’s also sponsors Sunrise County Economic Council, Maine Sea Coast Mission, and other critical organizations in our rural community.
