A few years ago, Nancy and Peter Possenti were in need of a baby gift. Unable to locate a suitable present in retail stores, Nancy decorated a few blank onesies. Soon, people started hearing about her unique gift and “requests started pouring in from friends and colleagues.” In 2005, Nancy and Peter founded Positively Organic “on the simple belief that when it comes to dressing kids, parents shouldn’t have to choose between style and sustainability.”
Our clothes are made from handpicked and ring spun cotton, which is grown by an organic farming community that has been growing cotton in Northern India for centuries. They are embellished with nickel-free snaps and low impact chemical dyes….
Our clothes are made in a beautiful, clean, light-filled factory located in a picturesque coastal town in southern India. They’re sewn by a team of highly skilled workers from the local community who work decent hours for very fair living wages….
Believing that kids should be in school and on the playground, not at work, our manufacturer doesn’t employ anyone under 18 and actively supports the local elementary school.
As our company grows, we’re strongly committed to ‘putting our money where our heart is’ by taking care of our environment, our communities and, most importantly, our children in a number of ways.
- Working exclusively with socially responsible companies and making sure that the workers who make our products are paid a living wage and treated with dignity
- Supporting causes that are near and dear to our hearts in four key areas: children’s health and welfare, environmental sustainability, economic justice, artistic expression
